As you can see to the right, I have updated my goals just a bit to match up with where I'm at right now in my weight loss process.
~~Get to 140 Pounds by August 2010~~
This one changed from 'Get to 135 Pounds by July 2010' for a couple of reasons.
1) I am beginning to wonder if 135 is a realistic weight for myself anymore. I originally went with 135, because that's the weight that I was at when I started gaining. But now, I am more of a woman rather than college-aged, and I think my body has changed & matured some. I also worry that 135 might be a weight that I would have to always be dieting to maintain, whereas I am hoping that 140 will be a manageable maintenence weight for me. I am not willing to diet for the rest of my life, and I am not willing to give up the foods that I love. This will obviously be something that I will have to play by ear as I continue losing weight. If I get to 140 and I feel like I have 5 more to lose, I will. On the same hand, if I get to 145 and I feel like that is the right weight for me, I will be done losing. We'll see, but I'm really thinking that 140 will put me back into a size 8, which is a nice & curvy but thin size for me.
2) I moved the date part of the goal back one month from July to August. This is more based on simple math. I figured up how much weight I have lost each month and averaged it out:
I started this weight loss journey (all but the first 10 pounds) mid August---
August to September: 10.8 pounds lost
September to October: 6 pounds lost
October to November: 5 pounds lost
November to December: 9.4 pounds lost
December to January: .2 of a pound lost
January to February: 4.2 pounds lost
This averages out to just shy of 6 pounds lost per month. Without the December to January dreadful holiday time it averages out to a bit more than 7 pounds lost each month. So, based on that, I am giving myself 5 more months to lose the last 35 pounds. I am going to have to kick it into a higher gear to make it happen! I have a feeling these last 35 pounds are going to be a bit stubborn, considering they have been pretty comfortable right where they are for many years!
~~Begin Insanity Work Out Program March 1~~
This is a NEW goal. Insanity is another Beachbody workout plan that seems to be more cardio based. It is a 60 day program, and I'm hoping it will help with my weight loss goals. One of my friends bought the videos and I am thinking it might make sense for me to complete it before P90X to help me increase my workout intensity and endurance. My goal is to complete Insanity by May, before I delve into P90X.
~~Begin P90X on May 3, 2010~~
I moved this back a couple of months because I don't feel quite ready to start it yet. I am not at the fitness level I think I need to be at to successfully complete this program right now, but I am well on my way!
All of the goals about running are still the same at this point. My only concern is that I am going to have a hard time training to run at the same time I am completing Insanity & P90X. I am probably going to back my running down to 1-2 times a week for now, and see how that goes. I suppose it will be a work in progress.
